The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery at an Ashburn gas station where the suspect fired a shot inside the store.
Shortly before midnight on April 1, 2016, the suspect entered the Shell gas station located in the 20060 block of Ashbrook Commons Plaza, displayed a firearm and demanded the clerk open the cash register.
During the course of the robbery the suspect discharged a round from the firearm.
He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
No one was injured during the robbery.
Detectives with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division have released surveillance video images of the suspect who is described as:
- Black male in his twenties
- ~6’ tall
- slender buil
- some facial hair, possibly a goatee.
He was wearing blue jeans, black shoes and a black hooded sweatshirt with the number ‘1999’ and an Abercrombie logo displayed in white on the front of the sweatshirt.
A perimeter was established and the area was searched with the assistance of the Fairfax County Police Department helicopter.
No suspect was located.
