HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) — The James Madison University Police Department is investigating a reported assault that happened early Tuesday morning.
At about 1:25 a.m., a victim reported that he was walking from Carrier Drive towards Bridgeforth Stadium when he passed a group of four black men wearing in dark clothing near the intersection of Bluestone Drive and Carrier Drive.
The victim said that one of the four, a black man wearing dark clothing with blonde or light colored hair on top of his head resembling a Mohawk, turned and began following the victim towards Godwin Field.
At some point, the suspect began speaking to the victim, when the victim stopped to see what the individual was saying, the suspect approached him and hit him.
The victim then ran towards the football stadium while the suspect turned and ran back towards the other three he had originally been walking with. All four were last seen heading up Carrier Drive towards the East Campus.
The victim did not need medical attention.
